> Shipments are projected to grow nearly 36%, while nine leading cloud providers’ combined capital spending could exceed $1.5 trillion in 2027.

AI-server revenue is projected to approach $920 billion in 2027, with rising rack and memory prices lifting sales alongside shipment growth as AI systems claim a larger share of the server market.

The 2027 estimate would mark an increase of more than 90% from the roughly $479 billion projected for 2026. Shipments are also expected to grow, by 32.2% in 2026 and nearly 36% in 2027. The figures point to revenue rising faster than the number of systems shipped, with higher prices contributing to sales growth.

AI servers are projected to generate nearly 75% of the $639.2 billion total server market in 2026. Their share is expected to reach about 81% in 2027, when the overall market is forecast to exceed $1 trillion. These figures cover server sales revenue rather than the stock-market value of AI companies.

Rack-scale systems are expected to anchor orders in 2027. They include NVIDIA’s GB300 and VR200 systems and AMD’s Helios series. Memory and other component shortages are raising average prices for new AI-server racks.

Combined capital expenditures by nine leading cloud service providers are projected at $957 billion in 2026, up 106% from the previous year. The total is forecast to exceed $1.5 trillion in 2027, a further 60% increase. The 2027 spending-growth outlook was revised upward, with higher server-system prices, shortage-related component costs and prepayments to suppliers among the factors.

The wider server market also recorded much faster revenue growth than unit growth in the second quarter of 2026. Worldwide revenue reached $166.3 billion, up 52% year over year, while unit growth was 15.4%. Those figures include servers beyond AI systems and provide broader industry context.
