OpenZeppelin has released audited token contracts for Stellar that use UltraHonk proofs to verify operations, but the current verifier does not guarantee balance or amount privacy.

The Confidential Token package, included in OpenZeppelin’s Stellar library v0.8.0, wraps an existing SEP-41 token. Users deposit tokens into the contract, make confidential transfers and can later withdraw the underlying tokens. Sender and recipient addresses remain visible.

The current verifier accepts a non-zero-knowledge form of UltraHonk proofs. As a result, the implementation cannot guarantee that balances and transfer amounts stay private on Stellar. The contract design also provides auditor access to balances and transaction amounts, along with configurable compliance policies, account freezing and authorized asset recovery.

The library includes six Noir proof circuits. Its selective-disclosure layer and client SDK are outside the release. Selective disclosure would let a holder prove a fact, such as a transaction amount or whether a balance exceeds a threshold, to one recipient without revealing other activity.

The release follows a developer preview on Stellar testnet. The audited contracts and proof circuits are ready for deployment on Stellar mainnet.
