# Anthropic Says Claude Duet Background Checks Use Chat Limits

Anthropic’s Claude Duet uses the same usage allowance as regular Claude chats, so its background account checks count against the limits users have for conversations with the assistant.

Anthropic announced the research preview on Oct. 21. Duet can review connected email and calendar accounts, prepare reply drafts and follow up on unfinished tasks. It can also send users a morning briefing and message them when work is done or a decision is needed.

The assistant checks connected accounts every few hours. Anthropic says more frequent monitoring would use up chat limits faster. Duet also draws on users’ existing Claude memories, skills and app connections.

Team and Enterprise customers are excluded from the initial preview.
