> ChatGPT and Grok voice sessions each ended at $82,000. Claude Opus 5.5 gave separate text and voice estimates of $78,000 and $85,000.

Four AI sessions put Bitcoin’s (BTC) Dec. 31, 2026, closing price between $78,000 and $85,000, but none produced a reproducible calculation, limiting what the estimates reveal about the systems’ forecasting ability.

An Oct. 23 exercise asked OpenAI’s ChatGPT voice, xAI’s Grok voice and Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5 in text and voice to forecast Bitcoin’s closing price on Dec. 31, 2026. Five prompts covered past market cycles, on-chain activity, institutional adoption and economic conditions. The exercise did not identify the version of Grok voice used.

ChatGPT voice and Grok voice each ended at $82,000. Claude Opus 5.5 gave a $78,000 target in text and $85,000 in voice. Claude’s two modes differed by $7,000, matching the full spread across the four final estimates.

The estimates shifted during the exchange. ChatGPT voice moved from $89,500 to $82,000; Grok voice moved from $88,000 to $82,000; and Claude voice moved from $88,000 to $85,000. Claude’s text answer remained at $78,000.

The exercise was not a controlled scientific benchmark, and it did not verify that every session had equal access to live information. That means the comparison cannot establish whether voice or text produces better Bitcoin forecasts. ChatGPT and Grok reached the same voice estimate, but the matching figures do not show that the sessions used the same evidence or reasoning.

A reproducible calculation would let a reader trace how the stated inputs led to a dollar figure. Without that path, the exercise offers targets but no way to compare the reasoning behind them.

In a later text exchange about its voice answer, ChatGPT said, “I treated plausibility as evidence.” The comment came after the forecast and provides no calculation behind its $82,000 figure.

The results record four responses to one exercise; they do not rank the systems’ forecasting performance. All four targets remain untested against Bitcoin’s Dec. 31, 2026, closing price.
