> Investigator Darcy flagged about 15.99 million USDT in unusual transfers, while the freeze covered nine addresses.

Tether froze 2,212,850.3 USDT across nine addresses linked to the CoinDCX security incident, following roughly 15.99 million USDT in unusual transfers.

The investigation began with the larger transfer total identified by Darcy. That figure describes the unusual activity, while 2,212,850.3 USDT is the amount Tether froze across the nine addresses. The two totals represent different measures of the case.

Salus later questioned the transaction trail after identifying transfers involving a “proof-of-reserves” address and a pattern in TRX distributions. Responses from the parties involved helped establish verifiable on-chain evidence that enabled Tether to act.

CoinDCX co-founder Sumit Gupta initially said no security vulnerability had occurred. The reported figures frame the inquiry at two stages: roughly 15.99 million USDT in unusual transfers prompted scrutiny, and 2.21 million USDT was frozen across the linked addresses.
