# Soneium Plans Native SONEIUM Token for Entertainment IP Projects

Soneium plans to introduce a native token, SONEIUM, as part of a plan to bring entertainment intellectual property and royalties onto its Ethereum layer 2 network.

The token has not been issued, and Soneium has not announced a date for its token generation event. The network plans to release further token details later. Soneium intends the token to connect creators, intellectual property owners, developers, fans and investors.

Soneium Portal will give users a place to find and participate in tokenized intellectual property projects. The first IP token project will feature Moriusa, a Japanese character. The portal is part of Soneium’s plan for an onchain entertainment economy.

Soneium also plans an IP Vault for royalty assets and tokenized IP bonds backed by entertainment businesses. Its collaboration with DayOneDream aims to bring royalties from K-pop concert operations onchain.

The network plans to adjust its gas fees to support resilience and sustainable operations. Soneium plans to announce the token’s details and token generation event schedule later.
