> Their 45-minute episode covered legacy enterprise systems, financial reconciliation, procurement and software without APIs or custom integrations.

OpenAI guests Ari Weinstein and James Sun discussed how computer-use agents may navigate existing software alongside people, a conversation that suggests interfaces could serve both groups.

The 45-minute episode was published Monday, Oct. 26, at 6 a.m. ET (10:00 UTC). Its topics included legacy enterprise resource planning systems, financial reconciliation and procurement, as well as software without APIs or custom integrations.

Those examples put the interface question in the context of established business applications. When software lacks an API or a custom integration, computer-use agents offer a possible way to work with it through its existing interface. The episode’s framing also describes people collaborating with agents in real time.

The idea that interfaces may continue to serve both people and agents is an implication of the discussion, not an announced OpenAI strategy. The conversation presents interfaces as a possible route for agents to navigate applications and a place where people can work alongside them.

OpenAI introduced its Agents API in public beta on Sept. 10 and added computer-use support on Sept. 29. The capability lets developers build agents that interact with software to complete tasks. The Oct. 26 episode adds a discussion of how computer use may fit into existing software interfaces. It does not announce another Agents API change.
