> The funds came from the 2025 Cardano Product Committee budget, in transfers of 55,172 ADA on Oct. 20 and 60,000 ADA on Oct. 21.

Intersect returned 115,172 Cardano (ADA) to the network treasury in two transactions, demonstrating the first mainnet use of a contract function designed to recover unspent budget funds.

Transfers of 55,172 ADA on Oct. 20 and 60,000 ADA on Oct. 21 came from unspent funds in the 2025 Cardano Product Committee budget.

The Treasury Reserve Smart Contract (TRSC) includes Funding, Disbursing, Reorganizing and SweepTreasury functions. SweepTreasury gives administrators a way to return unused budget allocations to the treasury. The October transfers marked its first use on Cardano’s mainnet.

The refund used Intersect’s 2025 contract. Its 2026 reserve contract had recorded cumulative activity of 26.1 million USDCx, 4.8 million USDM and 201.67 million ADA through Oct. 9. Those totals do not show current balances or completed vendor payments, as described in [coverage of the 2026 reserve contract](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/33954>).
