> The plan caps swap fees at 1.75% and targets a deposit-and-withdraw route that can bypass fees. The policy contract is deployed, with governance votes still pending.

Yield Basis has proposed changing fees and price targeting for its Curve WETH pool, aiming to reduce arbitrage losses and close a route for extracting pool value through deposits and withdrawals without normal fees.

Under the proposed policy, a swap moving the pool toward a fresh Pyth Pro report for Ether (ETH), without crossing the reported price, would pay a 0.50% base fee plus 67.5% of the trader’s edge above that level. The fee would be capped at 1.75%, and other swaps would pay 1.75%. The discount would fade as the report aged and disappear after five minutes.

The current policy uses a Twocrypto fee curve ranging from 1.36% to 2.82%, with fees responding to the pool’s balance skew. Separately, the pool’s re-peg method uses an exponential moving average of its own trade prices. The proposal would replace the existing fee policy and use Pyth reports as the re-peg reference.

The pool’s liquidity target would also be guided by 80- and 160-minute price averages. Requested adjustments would be capped at 0.50% per block. These target adjustments are separate from the fee charged on an individual swap.

The upgrade also addresses a route in which traders deposit and withdraw liquidity to extract value without paying the proper fees. The pool’s on-chain accounting value per yb-WETH share, measured in ETH, fell 0.73% from June 10 through Sept. 30, an annualized decline of 2.4%.

The policy contract is deployed and verified, but governance votes remain. A Curve vote would attach it to the WETH pool and set the reserved profit fraction. A separate Yield Basis vote would set the LevAMM fee and donation rate.

The planned rollout starts with WETH, followed by cbBTC, WBTC and tBTC pools. Curve’s earlier [community vote on the broader permissionless propAMM implementation](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/38737>) did not detail these Pyth-based pricing rules.
