> Shayon Sengupta’s Oct. 8 essay frames the market as a concept. USD.AI assigns collateral enforcement to an agent and processes withdrawals through a cash-dependent 30-day queue.

Multicoin Capital general partner Shayon Sengupta has proposed a financing market where claims tied to GPUs, future computing capacity and receivables from customer offtake agreements could secure loans, with enforceable legal rights anchoring each claim.

The Oct. 8, 2026, essay outlines a market concept; it does not announce a Multicoin product or a specific financing commitment.

Possible collateral spans three forms: a GPU or a secured interest in a server; access to a compute cluster during a future period; or unpaid amounts due under customer offtake contracts. The proposal depends on legally enforceable rights behind these digital claims.

Claim values can vary with hardware configuration, location, service level and reservation length, making them harder to standardize and trade. Buyers would need to assess both the digital claim and the underlying service or asset.

USD.AI’s sUSDai provides a current example of crypto-linked GPU financing. The token reflects the performance of loans and reserves and gives holders a pro rata vault position, but no direct ownership of specific GPUs or control over creditor remedies.

An administrative and collateral agent maintains liens and directs default enforcement. The agent may use smart contracts and, when needed, off-chain legal processes.

At origination, the maximum loan-to-value ratio is 80%, requiring borrowers to provide at least 20% equity. The usual loan term is three years, though it may extend to five years to align with an offtake agreement.

Withdrawals are processed in first-in, first-out order on a 30-day cycle, subject to available cash. Unfilled requests carry into later cycles. Completed loan sales through GLX may add cash, but the process does not guarantee a specific payout date or amount.
