Trezor has warned that a Safe 5 hardware wallet sold by CryptoBilis may have been tampered with, prompting the company to urge affected buyers to protect assets in new wallets using newly generated recovery seeds.

The alert covers customers who purchased devices through CryptoBilis since March 2026. Trezor advised them to move their holdings into the new wallets.

Trezor said it received a credible report of a possible hardware implant in one unit. It has examined several devices without finding evidence of tampering in those units so far, and the investigation is continuing.

No CryptoBilis customers had reported losing funds when Trezor issued the warning. The advisory points to a potential security concern; it does not establish that Safe 5 buyers lost assets.

Trezor removed CryptoBilis from its reseller list on Oct. 9 amid concerns about devices sold through the company. The new warning adds a Safe 5 model to scrutiny of the reseller channel.
