> Apps, wallets and bridges using the old system face a general Dec. 1 cutoff, while Noble has a separate wind-down schedule extending into January.

Circle will begin tightening transfer capacity for its first-generation cross-chain system Saturday, Oct. 31, followed by a general V1 pause scheduled for Dec. 1 that affects legacy integrations.

Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol V1 moves USD Coin (USDC) between blockchains by burning tokens on the source chain and minting them on the destination. Circle’s successor, CCTP V2, uses separate contracts and an application programming interface (API) and does not support older integrations. Apps, wallets and bridge services using V1 need to update their integrations to keep using the newer system.

Circle has not published the interim limit levels or the dates for each reduction. It plans to retain enough minting capacity for pending transfers that have already been attested to finish before the general pause. After Dec. 1, exits from Noble may be limited to destinations that still support V1 burns.

Noble will not receive CCTP V2. Circle plans to suspend Noble’s USDC contract and remaining cross-chain routes Jan. 12, 2027, when all CCTP routes to and from Noble are scheduled to stop. Circle advises holders to move USDC off Noble before that date. It plans to snapshot remaining balances on Jan. 12 and begin manual redemptions Jan. 13. Eligibility requires the holder’s wallet address to appear in the snapshot; assets must be held in a holder-controlled wallet, and redemptions are subject to compliance and security requirements.
