Synthetix has recovered about 8.41 million Synthetix Network Token (SNX) taken from Binance and plans to return them at the exchange’s request. The tokens, valued at about $1.53 million, are currently held in a multisignature wallet belonging to Synthetix protocolDAO.

An on-chain transfer moved the SNX from an address identified as the attacker’s to the protocolDAO wallet. Synthetix said it has notified Binance about the recovery. The transfer into protocolDAO custody completes the recovery described in the announcement, while the return to Binance remains a separate step.

Binance’s request is the condition Synthetix gave for sending the tokens back. The announcement does not say the assets have already been transferred to Binance; it places them in the DAO’s wallet pending the requested return. The arrangement makes protocolDAO the current custodian, with Binance named as the intended recipient. About $1.53 million in SNX has therefore been recovered into DAO custody, pending the return.
