> Binance said it would cover losses with SAFU and company funds. Aave’s Oct. 29 freeze blocked new supply and borrowing but left withdrawals, repayments and liquidations available.

Binance estimated the total impact of its Oct. 29 security incident at about $6.3 billion and said about $3 billion had been frozen on-chain by its Oct. 30 update.

The exchange said it would cover losses with SAFU and company funds. It also said it had found no evidence of a wallet private-key leak. The $6.3 billion figure is an estimate of total impact, not a confirmed net loss.

Aave guardian multisigs froze 292 reserves across its V3 and V4 markets on Oct. 29, from 5:42 to 7:04 p.m. ET. The action covered 175 V3 reserves across 16 networks and 117 V4 reserves across four networks. It blocked new supply and borrowing, while withdrawals, repayments and liquidations remained available. Aave’s Horizon market stayed open.

LlamaRisk linked a wallet in the exploiter cluster to a $60 million Tether (USDT) deposit and a 19,762 Wrapped Ether (WETH) borrow on Aave V3 Ethereum Core, worth about $44.6 million at the time.
