> Duckbill lists its calls at about $5 apiece, with typical completion in two to three hours during business hours.

Personal AI assistants from Dazzle AI, Duckbill and Wajo AI can involve human workers when a task calls for a phone conversation, judgment or follow-through beyond what software handles alone. The companies describe different ways people enter the process, from resolving a task mix-up to making calls or handling work that needs a personal touch.

Dazzle AI CEO Marissa Mayer said the company sends some tasks to human contractors. In one case, an assistant confused window glass with tabletop glass while helping with a home project, and a person resolved the mix-up. “We’re not even trying to hide it, we think the human in the loop is a benefit,” Mayer said. Dazzle’s approach places a person in the process when the assistant’s work needs help or review.

Duckbill offers a calling service for AI tools. Each task includes one call made by a real person, and the service typically completes it within two to three hours during business hours. Duckbill lists the price at about $5 per call, or two credits. Its Model Context Protocol service lets an AI tool request a call, track the task and receive the result; a separate API lets AI agents dispatch tasks to human operators.

Wajo AI’s Fo assistant can bring in a person or teammate when a task requires human judgment. The company also uses trained executive assistants for tasks that need a human touch. Its model gives the assistant a way to involve a person when a task calls for judgment or personal handling.

The examples show people taking on distinct parts of delegated work: Dazzle’s contractors can resolve a task problem, Duckbill’s operators make calls, and Wajo’s assistants can contribute judgment. The services pair software that routes or plans work with people who handle some interactions and follow-through.
