Threshold Network says tBTC remains fully backed as its pause on new minting and redemption requests continues. The pause covers new Bitcoin (BTC) deposits, tBTC minting and redemption requests, while holders can still hold, transfer and use tokens already in circulation. The [pause on new BTC deposits, tBTC minting and redemptions](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/45250>) is tied to security maintenance.

Aave also froze its tBTC reserve in the Ethereum Core market during the suspension. The [earlier Ethereum Core tBTC reserve freeze](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/45448>) blocked new deposits to that reserve and new borrowing backed by tBTC. Existing users could repay debt or withdraw assets, while liquidations remained governed by the market’s existing rules.
