OpenRouter processed about 194 trillion tokens in the week of Oct. 26, putting the AI model aggregation platform on an annualized pace above 10 quadrillion as usage accelerated.

It was the first time the platform’s annualized throughput had crossed that mark. An annualized pace extends one week’s throughput across a year, so the 10 quadrillion figure is a run rate rather than a single-week total.

The latest nine-week stretch exceeded the volume OpenRouter processed during the roughly three years and three months before that period.

Agent token use passed human-interaction use on Feb. 6 and stood at about seven times that level by the final week of September.

Repeated context can contribute to agent token use. Each step may resend instructions, tool definitions and a record of earlier actions, and longer tasks can repeat more of that material.
