> The public roadmap sets a Q4 2026 target and starts with a limited validator group before expanding participation.

GenLayer Labs CEO Albert Castellana expects the network’s mainnet launch in December, a more specific estimate than its public roadmap, which sets a Q4 2026 target for the AI dispute-resolution system.

The roadmap does not name a launch day. It describes an opening phase with access limited to a permissioned validator group, followed by a gradual expansion of participation. December is Castellana’s expectation; the roadmap itself specifies only the quarter.

GenLayer is designed to resolve disagreements in contracts between software agents, including questions that depend on interpreting instructions or evidence. Its Intelligent Contracts are Python programs that can read web content and interpret natural-language terms. The project’s [review and appeal process for disputed agent contracts](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/46597>) provides context for the planned network.

Under GenLayer’s Optimistic Democracy design, validators using different AI models review proposed outcomes. The first review round uses five randomly selected validators, and an appeal can expand the review panel. The design aims to address disputes that a payment rule alone may not resolve, such as whether a completed service met the parties’ terms.

A MetaMask Smart Account example illustrates that distinction. An AI jury reviews whether an agent’s payment, though within its spending limits, also followed the user’s broader instruction. A finalized decision could revoke the agent’s future authority, but it could not reverse a settled payment without a separate escrow or refund mechanism.

GenLayer Chain is an Arbitrum Orbit layer 2. Bradbury, the project’s production-like testnet, runs real AI workloads. The mainnet target would move the dispute-resolution system beyond that test phase; the public roadmap places the target in Q4 2026 without a specific date.
