> Nvidia has also told cloud partners to sell at least 51% of their services under future contracts to non-Chinese companies.

A rack of Nvidia B300 AI chips sold for about $2.8 million in China in October, highlighting demand for advanced computing hardware that U.S. export controls bar from direct sale there.

The B300 is among Nvidia's advanced AI products and is used by U.S. developers including OpenAI and Anthropic. The October transaction involved a rack of the chips inside China, where the product cannot be sold under U.S. export controls.

Nvidia has also told cloud partners to sell at least 51% of their services to non-Chinese companies. The condition applies to future contracts worldwide and has been conveyed verbally by sales and regional teams in recent months. Existing lease agreements are unaffected.

The requirement addresses access to computing capacity through overseas data centers. Chinese technology companies have used overseas cloud services for AI work, including model training.

Nvidia has separately tightened its checks on AI chip buyers, reducing by more than half the number of Asian customers authorized to purchase its AI chips.
