About $8 million in Ether (ETH) moved to new wallets that Arkham Intelligence links to the Mercado Bitcoin attacker on Nov. 3, after a breach at the Brazilian exchange.

The portfolio associated with those wallets was valued at about $46 million. No group had been linked to the breach.

Mercado Bitcoin said Nov. 2 that it contained a security incident in one system, found no customer losses or data leak, and temporarily paused deposits and withdrawals while it investigated. The exchange did not disclose a loss estimate.

Earlier outflows began on Base at 8:22 p.m. ET Nov. 1 (1:22 a.m. UTC Nov. 2). At 1:24 a.m. ET Nov. 2 (6:24 a.m. UTC), 2,852 ETH, worth $6.52 million at the time, left a Mercado Bitcoin hot wallet. The breach was valued at $46 million or more across at least 10 blockchains, with outflows from hot wallets on multiple networks.
