> Eligible iPhone users can ask questions, analyze images and generate content, then continue complex requests in Alibaba’s Qwen app.

Apple has opened a developer beta in China that connects Alibaba’s Qwen app with Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence, giving eligible iPhone users access to text and image AI features.

Users can choose whether to enable Qwen and sign in with Apple or an existing Qwen account. They can use the iPhone features for questions, text and image analysis, and content generation. More involved requests can continue in the Qwen app, with the conversation carried over.

For example, Siri can provide general sleep advice, while the Qwen app can analyze sleep records, exercise and lifestyle habits to identify factors affecting sleep and develop an improvement plan. Visual Intelligence can use Qwen to identify objects or scenes; a product search can continue in Qwen, which can look for a matching item on Taobao.

In Writing Tools, Qwen can generate text and adjust its tone or length. It can preserve details such as an event invitation’s time and location. It can also shorten a notice so it is easier to forward.

The beta is available to users who bought an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone in China, or whose device location and Apple Account country or region are both set to China. Apple had scheduled the test for Nov. 4 in its earlier [China beta plan](<https://www.tokenpost.com/news/technology/45195>), with a public release previously planned for December alongside iOS 27.3.
