ApeChain plans to replace LayerZero with Chainlink’s CCIP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure, a shift that will bring key assets under Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Token standard.

ApeChain announced the plan Wednesday, Nov. 4. It covers Bored Ape Yacht Club and other Yuga Labs projects, and will end ApeChain’s reliance on LayerZero for cross-chain infrastructure across the ecosystem.

On ApeChain, ApeCoin (APE), USDC and other major assets are set to adopt Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Token standard. CCIP supports cross-chain messaging and token transfers. The transition is designed to help applications and communities move assets between networks more easily and improve interoperability.
