> The forecast links political opposition to a slower AI infrastructure buildout, with possible effects on Big Tech spending and capital raises.

Yorkville Ives expects political opposition could prevent 5% to 10% of planned U.S. data center projects from moving forward after Democrats took control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections.

A slower buildout could reduce capital spending and capital raises by major technology companies. It could also provide a more measured path toward revenue growth and profitability for the AI industry.

Opposition to data centers in Texas is another investor concern. It is hurting shares of SpaceX and Tesla, both of which have significant data center presences in the state.
