Argentine's open primary elections for the presidency are seeing a notable shift. A pro-Bitcoin politician, Javier Milei, is showing a promising lead. With the majority of the votes tallied, Milei has captured a lead of close to 32%. His closest competitor is the conservative Together for Change party, which is currently holding nearly 30% of the vote, as per Bloomberg's records.

The ruling government's coalition, Union for the Homeland, currently sits in the third position, securing slightly above 28.5% of the vote. A notable figure in the Liberty Advances coalition, Milei's political beliefs range from libertarian to far-right perspectives.

Milei has been vocal about his distinct economic views. Recognizing himself as an anarcho-capitalist, he has been a fervent critic of Argentina's central bank, going as far as to label it fraudulent. Milei doesn't stop at financial institutions; he has made statements indicating his belief that the sale of human organs should be treated as just another market.

A strong advocate for Bitcoin, Milei views the cryptocurrency as a countermeasure against the deceptions he attributes to central banks. He believes that traditional money, or fiat currency, gives politicians an avenue to mislead the Argentine public through inflation. This narrative resonates with many in Argentina, a nation grappling with an inflation rate that's soared to 116% annually. This is the most severe the country has seen in over thirty years and has significantly escalated the cost of living for its residents.

Looking ahead, the final contest for Argentina's presidency is slated for October 22. The rules dictate that if no contender manages to clinch at least 45% of the total votes, the decision will move to a run-off in the following month.
