The rejection of the CLARITY Act has delayed a clearer U.S. regulatory framework for crypto and digital assets, extending uncertainty for the market.

Sen. Tim Scott said Tuesday that the bill’s defeat reflected political considerations. He accused Democratic lawmakers of prioritizing political advantage in their conflict with former President Trump over a framework he believes would benefit Americans.

Scott said the vote’s failure means regulatory clarity for crypto and digital assets will be postponed. He also described the broader process as highly politicized.

The CLARITY Act’s rejection leaves the United States without the proposed framework for clearer crypto oversight.
