Stablecoin powerhouse Tether is reportedly in advanced discussions to lead a massive €1 billion ($1.16 billion) funding round for Neura Robotics, a fast-growing German company developing AI-driven humanoid robots. According to the Financial Times, the potential deal could value Neura between €8 billion and €10 billion—an enormous leap from its €120 million fundraising round earlier this year.

While Tether did not confirm the negotiations, the company acknowledged that it is actively exploring new investment opportunities in frontier technologies. This aligns with its broader strategy of reinvesting profits from its core stablecoin operations, which generated more than $10 billion in the first nine months of the year. Tether continues to diversify its portfolio, with holdings spanning agriculture, neuroscience technology, sports ventures, gold, bitcoin, and even an increased stake in video-sharing platform Rumble. The company has also been linked to fundraising efforts targeting a staggering $500 billion valuation.

Neura Robotics has quickly become a standout in the robotics sector. Its flagship product—a humanoid robot engineered primarily for industrial environments—is being positioned for future home use. The company envisions producing 5 million units by 2030, citing ambitions of creating an “iPhone moment” for robotics. Neura has already secured €1 billion in pre-orders, signaling strong market confidence in its technology.

The growing interest in humanoid robots is accelerating as big tech players like Nvidia, Tesla, and SoftBank push to merge generative AI with robotics. Tesla aims to build 1 million Optimus robots by 2030, while rising startups such as Figure AI, 1X, and The Bot Company are quickly gaining traction in what Nvidia’s CEO recently called a multitrillion-dollar opportunity.

If finalized, Tether’s investment could significantly reshape the competitive landscape, marking one of the largest funding commitments in the global humanoid robotics race.
