Strategy, the prominent business intelligence firm led by Michael Saylor, has expanded its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings once again. On April 14, the company announced it had acquired an additional 3,459 BTC for approximately $285 million, averaging $82,618 per coin. This purchase boosts Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 531,644 BTC—roughly 2.5% of Bitcoin’s fixed maximum supply of 21 million coins.

The Bitcoin community had been expecting a major announcement after Saylor hinted at a significant move via X (formerly Twitter) on April 12, stating, “21M is the most important number in finance.” His post subtly referenced Bitcoin's capped supply and reaffirmed the company’s long-term bullish stance on the asset.

Strategy's average purchase price per Bitcoin is now nearing $68,000. With Bitcoin currently trading just above $85,000, the company’s holdings have grown substantially in value. However, despite the scale of the latest acquisition, the market showed minimal price reaction, indicating that institutional purchases like this may now be more fully absorbed by broader liquidity.

Strategy continues to position itself as one of the largest institutional holders of Bitcoin. Its aggressive accumulation strategy reflects growing institutional interest in BTC as a store of value and potential hedge against inflation. With over half a million BTC under management, Strategy remains a dominant player in the digital asset space.

This move reinforces Bitcoin’s appeal to long-term investors and highlights the increasing role of corporations in the crypto market. As institutional adoption rises, attention remains on Bitcoin’s scarcity and its fixed 21 million supply—an attribute that continues to drive demand.
