Coinbase Prime has announced it will discontinue custody support for 49 crypto assets by the end of April 2025. According to the official statement, the decision stems from a regular review process to ensure supported assets continue to meet the platform’s internal standards.

Among the tokens affected are VideoCoin (VID), Coffee Token (CFT), Sentinel Protocol (UPP), Cellframe (CELL), Ideology (IDEA), Dorayaki (DORA), CPUCoin (CPU), SIREN (SI), Oraichain Token (ORAI), UniLend Finance (UFT), Telcoin (TEL), and E-RADIX (EXRD). The platform noted that the custody discontinuation applies across all jurisdictions, and a full list of affected tokens was provided in the official notice.

Coinbase emphasized that its asset reviews are part of an ongoing effort to uphold security, compliance, and client demand standards. While trading or holding these assets on Coinbase Prime may have previously been supported, the new decision highlights the exchange’s focus on maintaining only high-quality custody offerings.

This change could affect institutional clients relying on Coinbase Prime for asset storage and could signal a broader trend of custodial platforms tightening their evaluation criteria amid evolving regulatory scrutiny and market shifts.

The move reinforces the importance of due diligence for crypto investors and service providers, especially as the ecosystem matures. Clients holding the affected tokens are advised to make alternative custody arrangements before the deadline.

For those monitoring digital asset management trends, Coinbase Prime’s decision may set a precedent for future evaluations across the crypto custody landscape.
