NYSE Arca, a subsidiary of the New York Stock Exchange, has submitted a 19b-4 filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list a new Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) backed by Truth Social, the media company founded by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The proposed fund, named the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF, would track the spot price of Bitcoin, mirroring the structure of existing spot Bitcoin ETFs currently trading in the market. The filing was made on behalf of Yorkville America Digital, a crypto asset manager affiliated with Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social.

Foris DAX Trust Company, known for its role as custodian of Crypto.com’s assets, is set to serve as the custodian for the proposed ETF if it gains regulatory approval.

In addition to the 19b-4 filing submitted by NYSE Arca, an accompanying S-1 registration document must also be filed by the issuer to initiate the official approval process with the SEC. The 19b-4 form is required when a self-regulatory organization like NYSE Arca proposes a rule change that would allow for the listing of a new product.

If approved, the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF would mark a significant intersection of politics, social media, and cryptocurrency investment, potentially expanding the visibility of both Trump Media and spot Bitcoin ETFs to a broader retail investor base.

This filing comes amid rising interest in crypto investment vehicles and ongoing regulatory scrutiny surrounding digital assets in the United States. As the SEC continues to evaluate numerous Bitcoin ETF applications, this move adds another high-profile contender to the race for mainstream crypto adoption.
