Architect, the financial infrastructure firm founded by former FTX US president Brett Harrison, has announced plans to launch AX, the world’s first centralized and regulated exchange for perpetual futures on traditional assets. The platform will allow trading across asset classes such as foreign exchange, single stocks, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), stock indices, and commodities—adapting the popular crypto perpetual futures model to traditional finance.

According to Harrison, AX is designed to merge the capital efficiency and simplicity of crypto perpetuals with the security, transparency, and oversight of traditional futures markets. Features like price bands, volatility halts, default waterfalls, and product-specific margins will ensure both innovation and compliance within a robust regulatory structure.

Bloomberg reports that Architect has raised $17 million in its ongoing Series A funding round, attracting major backers such as Coinbase Ventures, Circle Ventures, and Anthony Scaramucci’s SALT Fund. This strong investor participation underscores growing confidence in Harrison’s new venture and provides the financial foundation needed to build a licensed and technologically advanced trading platform.

Architect has already obtained a license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority, signaling its commitment to regulatory compliance and global market standards. Operating under Bermuda’s progressive framework allows AX to blend regulatory assurance with institutional-grade performance.

Harrison’s journey from FTX US to founding Architect highlights his deep roots in both crypto and traditional finance. Before FTX, he held leadership positions at Citadel Securities and Jane Street, developing advanced trading systems and strategies. His latest endeavor, AX, aims to bridge the gap between digital asset innovation and traditional financial infrastructure—positioning Architect as a frontrunner in the future of regulated derivatives trading.
