France's Lise Lightning Stock Exchange is set to make history on April 9 when aerospace supplier ST Group becomes the first company to go public through a fully onchain IPO in Europe under the EU's Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) pilot regime. This landmark event signals a major shift in how capital markets could operate in the future.
Based in Paris, Lise Lightning merges the entire IPO process — issuance, trading, and settlement — into a single blockchain infrastructure that runs around the clock, seven days a week. Unlike traditional exchanges, the platform charges no subscription fees and uses a first-come, first-served allocation model, effectively removing the gatekeeping role that underwriters have historically played in public offerings.
ST Group, headquartered in Toulouse, manufactures high-performance composite components for some of the aerospace industry's most recognized programs, including the Airbus A350, A320, and Dassault's Rafale fighter jet. The company also counts Thales Alenia Space and the French Navy among its clients. In 2025, ST Group recorded €3 million in revenue, reflecting 18.7% year-on-year growth, with an ambitious target of reaching €11 million by 2030. Its existing contracts are projected to generate €59 million in lifetime program revenue over the next decade.
Lise Lightning has secured backing from major financial institutions including BNP Paribas, CACEIS, and Bpifrance. The exchange was specifically designed to open capital markets to small and mid-sized enterprises that have historically been priced out by high costs and lengthy timelines associated with conventional listings.
The timing carries broader significance. European tokenization firms, including Lise itself, have been urging EU lawmakers to revise current DLT Pilot Regime caps, cautioning that restrictive rules could drive onchain markets toward the United States. A successful ST Group listing would provide regulators with their most compelling real-world evidence yet that blockchain-based public markets are not only viable but ready to scale.
