Cardano’s Update Constitutional Committee 2026 governance action is approaching a critical voting deadline, with participation still below the required threshold. Intersect is urging Delegated Representatives (DReps) and stake pool operators (SPOs) to cast their votes before the proposal expires on September 1 at 21:44:51 UTC.
The governance action is particularly important because failure to secure approval could disrupt Cardano’s path toward the Dijkstra hard fork and the Leios upgrade, both of which require constitutional and technical changes.
According to voting figures shared by Intersect, DReps have nearly reached their required 67% approval threshold, with participation standing at 66.3%. However, SPO participation remains further behind. Only 39% has been recorded against the required 51% threshold, making additional stake pool operator votes crucial before the deadline.
Intersect warned that if the Update CC 2026 action fails, the terms of existing Constitutional Committee members will expire. That would reduce the committee below Cardano’s required “committeeMinSize” of five members.
Such an outcome could temporarily prevent several major governance actions from being ratified, including Treasury Withdrawals, Parameter Updates, Constitution Updates and Hard Fork Initiations. This could create complications for upcoming Cardano network upgrades.
The Dijkstra era represents Cardano’s next major protocol development and is planned in two stages. Phase 1 is expected to introduce the Dijkstra ledger era alongside Ouroboros Linear Leios as a fully activated feature, with a target of the fourth quarter of 2026. Phase 2 is designed to activate Ouroboros Peras through an intra-era hard fork.
Meanwhile, Cardano has expanded its real-world blockchain use cases by becoming the public proof layer for Blockforce’s traceability platform. The system, which works with some of Brazil’s largest fashion groups, has anchored more than 500,000 supply chain records.
Blockforce’s architecture keeps sensitive supply chain information on a permissioned network while anchoring cryptographic proofs to Cardano. This allows auditors, regulators and customers to verify the authenticity of records without accessing confidential underlying data.
