Robinhood (HOOD) stock traded largely flat as investors weighed the company’s recent gains against growing optimism surrounding its blockchain business. Despite stronger cryptocurrency prices, HOOD shares slipped about 0.2% to $113.08 after closing the previous session at $113.33. The stock has still gained nearly 20% over the past 30 days.
Bullish sentiment received another boost after investment banking firm Citizens JMP raised its Robinhood stock price target from $155 to $165 while maintaining a “Market Outperform” rating. The higher target reflects increasing expectations that Robinhood Chain could become a meaningful source of revenue for the online brokerage.
Citizens JMP estimates that Robinhood Chain could eventually generate approximately $1 million in net revenue per day once its activity is incorporated into the firm's 2027 projections. At that pace, the blockchain platform could produce roughly $365 million in annual revenue.
The forecast represents a notable development for Robinhood because Chain activity has only recently reached levels substantial enough for analysts to explicitly factor into financial estimates. Citizens JMP consequently increased its 2027 projections to account for the blockchain platform's initial contribution.
However, analysts also highlighted potential risks. Revenue generated by Robinhood Chain could remain volatile, particularly if the recent surge in network activity proves difficult to sustain. The $365 million estimate therefore should not necessarily be viewed as assuming that current transaction growth will continue uninterrupted.
Robinhood has increasingly expanded beyond traditional stock trading into cryptocurrency and blockchain-based financial services. Continued adoption of Robinhood Chain could strengthen the company's position at the intersection of conventional markets and digital assets while creating an additional transaction-driven revenue stream.
The $165 HOOD stock price target also adds to growing Wall Street optimism. Other analysts have recently increased their forecasts for Robinhood, with StoneX setting a $170 price target.
For investors, Robinhood Chain's ability to maintain strong user activity and transaction volumes could become an increasingly important factor for HOOD stock. Sustained blockchain growth could support further upside, while weaker network activity could limit the revenue opportunity currently anticipated by analysts.
