Anthropic Reaches More Than 300,000 Business Customers
The company said customers representing more than $100,000 in annualized revenue grew nearly sevenfold in one year. In August, 43.8% of U.S. businesses in a tracked group paid for Anthropic subscriptions or tokens.
Anthropic served more than 300,000 business customers as of its August 2025 funding announcement, while its base of larger accounts expanded rapidly amid growing demand for artificial intelligence tools.
Customers representing more than $100,000 in annualized revenue grew nearly sevenfold over the preceding year, Anthropic said. The company did not disclose how much revenue came from its largest customers.
In August, 43.8% of U.S. businesses in a tracked group paid for Anthropic subscriptions or tokens. That share increased 0.34 percentage points from the previous month.
Spending among the largest firms moved in the opposite direction. Median monthly AI spending per employee among the top 1% of firms fell 9.7% in August, from $7,976 to $7,205.
The figures measure activity within the tracked business group and do not represent Anthropic’s complete customer base. They also do not establish Anthropic’s total revenue mix or the contribution of individual customers.
Anthropic’s business customer count and large-account growth were disclosed in August 2025. The latest spending figures cover August and were published Sept. 9, 2026.
