Akamai Technologies shares jumped 20% in premarket trading Friday after the company announced a seven-year, $11.6 billion agreement to provide Anthropic with computing capacity.

The move came as most of the seven megacap technology stocks rose before the U.S. market opened. Tesla gained 1.1%, Nvidia rose 0.7%, Amazon added 0.6%, Alphabet increased 0.4% and Apple edged up 0.1%. Microsoft was little changed, while Meta fell 0.5%.

The agreement puts Akamai’s cloud and infrastructure operations at the center of a large, long-term artificial intelligence computing contract.

Elsewhere, Atlas Energy rose 6.9% after announcing a $340.5 million equipment-purchasing agreement with Wyoming Machinery Company and a separate 328-megawatt power transaction. People Inc. gained 9.9%, while Comcast fell 1.9%, Nike dropped 2%, Twilio declined 3.5% and Zscaler lost 3.4% in premarket trading.
