Tetra Digital Group launched its Canadian-dollar stablecoin CADD on Solana on Sept. 23, adding a fourth blockchain for applications that use the token for payments, transfers, treasury operations and settlement.

CADD is backed 1:1 by Canadian-dollar reserves and redeemable at CAD $1.00 per token. On Solana, the token uses six decimals and its official mint address is Az9eyxEaiZD9AX4j5nP19Cm79eyfNriTuddMSQmLNEBm.

Ethereum, Base and Tempo were already supported networks. The Solana deployment gives applications another blockchain on which to use a Canadian-dollar settlement instrument.

Tetra Trust Company is CADD’s legal issuer, while CAD Digital Inc. is the agent for issuance, distribution and redemption.

“CADD is now live on Solana! CADD is the first Canadian-dollar stablecoin issued by a regulated financial institution, bringing CAD onchain for payments, transfers, treasury and settlement,” Tetra Digital Group said.

CADD originally launched May 4, 2026, after Alberta Treasury Board and Finance approved the model. The Sept. 23 event expanded the token’s network availability rather than marking its initial issuance.

The launch follows a Sept. 22 announcement that Canada’s six largest banks are exploring a shared CAD token network for transfers between financial institutions. That project involves Bank of Montreal, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, National Bank of Canada, Royal Bank of Canada, Scotiabank and TD Bank Group.

Because multiple Solana tokens can use the CADD ticker, users must verify the official mint address rather than relying on the token name alone.
