Atlas Energy Solutions Signs $613.5 Million AI Power Deals
The agreements cover balance-of-plant and generation equipment for a project backed by a frontier AI lab, with shipments scheduled from 2027 to 2028.
Atlas Energy Solutions agreed to approximately $613.5 million in equipment purchases for a power-generation project backed by a leading frontier artificial intelligence lab, expanding its push into infrastructure for energy-intensive customers.
An Atlas subsidiary will purchase about $340.5 million in balance-of-plant equipment from Wyoming Machinery Company. Shipments are scheduled from June through December 2027, with installment payments due between September 2026 and May 2027.
A separate agreement covers approximately 328 megawatts of power-generation equipment, related equipment and engineering services for about $273 million. That equipment is expected to be ready for shipment between April 2027 and February 2028.
The balance-of-plant purchase is supported by a cost-reimbursement agreement with the AI lab, which is the intended power offtaker for the project. Atlas President and CEO John Turner said the customer’s willingness to reimburse project costs showed commitment as the companies work toward long-term power purchase agreements.
Atlas also announced an additional 283 megawatts of Caterpillar power-generation equipment tied to another data-center project. The company previously disclosed a framework agreement reserving approximately 1.4 gigawatts of incremental generation equipment, with an initial aggregate purchase obligation of about $840 million.
