Aerodrome (AERO) and Velodrome (VELO) are set to merge into a unified cross-chain decentralized exchange called Aero on Oct. 21. Both tokens rose more than 20% over 24 hours.

AERO traded at $0.89, up 25.5%, while VELO traded at $0.038, up 22.1%. The planned merger will combine the two tokens into a single AERO asset as the platforms migrate to Aero.

Under the outlined allocation, about 94.5% of prior revenue will go to AERO holders and 5.5% to VELO holders. The communities and trading platforms associated with both projects are also expected to migrate to Aero.

The planned decentralized exchange will cover Base, Ethereum, OP, Arc, Ink, Robinhood Chain and Arbitrum. The next concrete step is the scheduled Aero launch on Oct. 21.
