Riot Platforms Repays $200 Million Coinbase Loan, Frees 5,821 BTC
The Sept. 21 repayment ended a secured credit facility with a fixed 6.15% annual interest rate that was due in April 2027.

Riot Platforms repaid its entire $200 million Coinbase Credit loan on Sept. 21, releasing 5,821 Bitcoin (BTC) that had been pledged as collateral and ending the secured borrowing arrangement ahead of its scheduled maturity.
The repayment covered all outstanding principal and accrued interest. Riot terminated the credit facility without an early termination fee or penalty.
The 5,821 BTC pledged under the facility were valued at about $340.7 million as of June 30, when they represented roughly 51% of Riot’s total Bitcoin holdings. Repaying the loan released Coinbase's security interest in the pledged Bitcoin.
Riot originally entered a $100 million Bitcoin-backed facility in April 2025 and increased the commitment to $200 million the following month. The facility was fully drawn, carried a fixed annual interest rate of 6.15% and had been extended to mature April 20, 2027.
