MARA paid a $100 million electricity deposit for a Texas data center project that would combine high-performance computing with Bitcoin mining across more than 1,200 acres.
The Matagorda County site is planned to have up to 2 gigawatts of power capacity. MARA intends to develop the property as a digital infrastructure campus supporting high-performance computing and Bitcoin (BTC) mining.
MARA also adjusted payment and exit terms in its agreement with HIF USA. Some payments tied to regulatory approvals will be made in two installments.
The potential purchase price remains capped at $600 million if all project milestones are completed.
