Blockchain.com is considering a U.S. initial public offering that could raise about $500 million as crypto capital markets begin to reopen.

The exchange and wallet provider is considering a valuation between $4 billion and $6 billion. That would be below the $14 billion valuation it reached during the 2022 crypto boom.

The company is also open to a smaller offering if necessary to complete a public listing. Blockchain.com confidentially filed draft registration documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in May, but did not disclose the number of shares or a potential price range.

The potential deal comes as crypto capital markets show signs of reopening after a broader market recovery began last month. Conditions remain uneven, however, with shares of recently listed crypto companies trading about 50% to 80% below their post-IPO highs.
