Stablecoin Market Cap Stands at $306.651 Billion as Payments Advance
Tether and USD Coin account for most of the supply, while Coinbase, Citi and Volante expand stablecoin payment infrastructure for U.S. institutions.

Stablecoin market capitalization stood at $306.651 billion as of Sept. 30, with payment infrastructure expanding across major U.S. financial institutions and strong USDT activity continuing on TRON.
The market grew 0.9% over 30 days and $1.703 billion over seven days. Tether (USDT) accounted for $183.759 billion, while USD Coin (USDC) represented $75.466 billion.
The figures measure the value of tokens in circulation, not necessarily the amount of fiat entering crypto markets. Supply can rise when tokens are minted, moved between networks or redistributed across chains.
Citi’s institutional clients will be able to accept stablecoin payments through Spring by Citi. Coinbase’s infrastructure will convert the digital assets into fiat, while Citi will settle the funds. The initial initiatives are planned for the United States, with additional capabilities expected later.
“Citi is exactly the kind of regulated banking partner the digital asset economy needs to move from experimentation to everyday commerce,” said Brett Tejpaul, head of Coinbase Institutional.
Volante Technologies is integrating USD Coin workflows into its payments platform. The platform’s clients include four of the five largest global corporate banks and seven of the 10 largest U.S. banks.
The system is designed to handle stablecoin minting, redemption, beneficiary-wallet registration, funding, notifications and wallet-to-wallet payments.
“For banks, stablecoin adoption is not about building a separate digital asset stack,” said Deepak Gupta, chief product, engineering and delivery officer at Volante Technologies.
TRON showed strong USDT activity, while Ethereum and TRON remained major stablecoin venues. TRON recorded $24.469 billion in USDT transfer volume on Sept. 25, 2026 (UTC).
USDe and sUSDe went live on TRON on Sept. 11, 2026. TRON held more than $94 billion in USDT at that time. As of September 2026, the network had more than 403 million accounts, 15 billion transactions and $28 billion in total value locked.
The data do not establish that stablecoin liquidity growth is flowing across the broader crypto market. The payment initiatives are designed to expand stablecoin use within existing financial systems, but they do not show that the activity is moving into Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) or other speculative crypto purchases.
