Nvidia Authorizes Record $150 Billion Share Buyback Increase
The authorization lifts Nvidia’s remaining repurchase capacity to $235 billion, with execution planned through fiscal 2028.

Nvidia authorized an additional $150 billion for share repurchases on Sept. 28, raising its remaining buyback capacity to $235 billion as the chipmaker signals confidence in continued artificial-intelligence infrastructure demand.
The company expects to execute the remaining authorization through fiscal 2028. Nvidia described the increase as the largest share-repurchase authorization increase in history, but did not provide a detailed transaction schedule.
“NVIDIA’s growth is being driven by a once-in-a-generation platform shift to AI and accelerated computing,” founder and CEO Jensen Huang said. He added that the company’s cash generation supports investment in new technologies while returning capital to shareholders.
The authorization follows Nvidia’s fiscal second-quarter results for the quarter ended July 26. Revenue reached $96.2 billion, up 106% from a year earlier, while net income totaled $59.7 billion.
Nvidia also said it returned approximately $26 billion to shareholders through repurchases and dividends during the quarter. The company had approximately $99 billion remaining under its repurchase program before the latest increase.
