Micron Plans to Increase Stock Buybacks Starting Dec. 9
CFO Mark Murphy said the company generated $44 billion in operating cash flow and $33.2 billion in free cash flow during fiscal fourth quarter 2026.

Micron plans to increase capital returns to shareholders beginning Dec. 9, with stock buybacks expected to account for most of the additional distributions, CFO Mark Murphy said in an earnings call update published at 10:28 p.m. ET Sept. 30 (02:28 UTC Oct. 1).
Micron generated $44 billion in operating cash flow and $33.2 billion in free cash flow during fiscal fourth quarter 2026, according to Murphy's remarks. The company expects to return 100% of its excess cash to shareholders over time.
The planned increase in buybacks will begin on Dec. 9, the second anniversary of Micron signing its final agreement under the CHIPS Act. The announcement sets a specific date for the company's expanded capital-return plan.
