Three Tankers Hit by Projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz
The vessels were struck while transiting the key oil-shipping route on Sept. 29. The notices did not identify the ships or a suspected attacker.

Three tankers were struck by unknown projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz on Sept. 29, raising fresh concerns about disruption to a major oil-shipping route as flows near pre-war levels.
The incidents involved a crude oil tanker hit on its port side and two other tankers struck while passing through the strait. The vessels’ identities and flags were not confirmed in the notices, and no suspected attacker was named.
The strikes were among four incidents from Sept. 28 and 29 published in maritime warnings on Sept. 30. In a separate event on Sept. 28, a vessel was hit by a suspected projectile. A fire broke out and was extinguished, and the crew were reported safe.
The Strait of Hormuz is a key route for oil shipments from the Persian Gulf.
