CME Group plans to bring two futures contracts tied to AI computing power to market on Oct. 5, subject to regulatory approval. The proposed contracts would give the capacity a tradable commodity format comparable to oil and electricity.

Silicon Data, a market intelligence company, would provide the contracts’ pricing benchmarks. The launch remains contingent on regulatory approval.
