Hyperion DeFi repaid about $8.6 million in principal and interest under its Avenue Capital loan agreement and launched a buyback program for its HYPD shares, leaving the Nasdaq-listed treasury company with no long-term debt outstanding.

Some of the repayment was funded by sales of HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid network. The company said clearing the debt gives it more operating flexibility to expand its onchain decentralized finance business and improve its capital structure.

Hyperion DeFi has also recently raised its performance guidance and announced new business initiatives. It is a treasury company focused on HYPE and previously launched an institutional credit facility using staked HYPE as collateral.
