Stability AI is expanding into music tools for professionals after raising $76 million in a round that included three major record labels and licenses to train AI on their catalogs.

Sony, Warner and Universal participated in the funding and licensed their music catalogs for training. The company has since introduced three audio models and AI music-editing software.

The tools can create instrumental tracks or shorter clips from text prompts. An upcoming update will let users steer music generation by humming a melody or beatboxing a drum pattern.

Sean Parker and Stability AI CEO Prem Akkaraju are leading the effort. Parker joined an $80 million rescue of the company two years ago, when it was an image-generation startup.
