Ondo launched three portfolio tokens on Sept. 24, packaging investment strategies developed by BlackRock into single blockchain-based products for eligible investors outside the United States.

The tokens target income, diversified growth and high growth. Each offers economic exposure to a basket of assets, with Ondo setting the allocations and rebalancing on a fixed schedule. A single token lets investors hold exposure to the basket without separately buying and adjusting each position.

BlackRock provides the products’ nondiscretionary model portfolio strategies. Ondo determines how those strategies are implemented, operates the products and executes rebalancing. The portfolios’ holdings and rebalancing activity are visible onchain.

The tokens do not give holders direct ownership of the underlying securities or their shareholder voting and information rights. Access is restricted to eligible investors in permitted jurisdictions outside the U.S.

“Tokenization creates new ways for portfolio strategies to be delivered through digital infrastructure,” said Lisa O’Connor, BlackRock’s global head of Model Portfolio Solutions.

The fixed rebalancing schedule means the launch does not establish that the portfolios adjust continuously to market conditions or individual investors’ goals. Their reach also depends on investor eligibility, jurisdictional restrictions and which assets are available onchain.

Bitwise has also introduced Automated Token Portfolios for eligible investors outside the U.S. The product lets investors mirror model portfolios of tokenized stocks in their own wallets, with Glider technology adjusting holdings to published target weights. Unlike Ondo’s single-token structure, Bitwise’s approach mirrors a portfolio within the investor’s wallet.

The launch extends Ondo’s portfolio-token model from individual assets to bundled allocations. The products remain limited to eligible investors outside the United States; the launch does not make them available to U.S. investors.
