G7 countries plan to release large amounts of diesel fuel soon, though some European countries were reluctant to agree.

The G7 previously announced plans to bring 100 million barrels of oil to markets over four months, beginning with a diesel release. The plan does not specify the diesel volume or contributions from individual countries.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) will monitor implementation and report back within 20 days.
